Magpie

Magpie is a well respected traditional songman for the Yugambeh (Northern NSW) and Gugu-Yalanji (North QLD) language areas.

He has developed a unique self taught style after direction from his uncles. Painting for many years he retells stories passed on by these Uncles who were traditional storytellers, songmen and dancers.

His paintings are colourful, delicate and very recognisable. A highly creative artists Magpie also loves working with wood, shells and feathers making original sculptures and hanging creations.
